Nominate your favourite local charity at Sainsbury’s

Saturday, May 16th, 2009

To mark Sainsbury’s 140th anniversary, the supermarket is inviting shoppers and staff in each branch to nominate a local charity to become that branch’s charity of the year.

Look out for the nomination forms in Sainsbury’s now, and post them in the store. Nominations are open between 6 and 26 May 2009. As you know, Hamilton PSA is a registered charity so why not nominate us? Hamilton Primary is of course the largest primary school in Colchester so our work does benefit a large number of primary children in Colchester.

The form simply asks for the charity’s name (“Hamilton PSA”), why you think it makes a difference to the lives of people in our local community (we’ll leave that up to you), and contact details – why not write in the web address (www.hamiltonprimary.org.uk)?

I’ve picked up a couple of spare nomination forms if anyone would like one. I’ll bring them with me on Monday morning to the infants’ playground.

Red carpet at the Children’s Disco

Wednesday, May 13th, 2009

The Children’s disco was very popular last Friday, with Hamilton pupils receiving some red carpet treatment on their way into school. Passing the white stretch limo, they all headed into the infant hall, dressed as their favourite movie characters.

There were dance prizes and a raffle, and infants and juniors seemed to have a good time. Thank you to all those who helped at the event and in organising it.

Next open meeting on 14 May

Tuesday, May 12th, 2009

The next PSA Open Meeting takes place on Thursday evening from 7.30pm, to be held in the demountable classroom. Every parent of a child at Hamilton is welcome to attend.

Come along and find out more. You can get involved as much or as little as you have time for. Maybe you’ve got ideas, contacts or other ways of helping. We hope to see you there.
