Come to the AGM on 17th November

Sunday, October 11th, 2009

The PSA’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held on Tuesday 17th November, and all parents/carers and members of staff are welcome to join us.

This is the occasion on which we get to vote on spending the current funds, so come along to make your vote count.

We shall all be electing a new Chairperson and a new Treasurer. If you’d like to find out more about these positions or to offer yourself as a candidate, do come along. Don’t worry – the PSA needs all kinds of people to get involved, doing as much or as little as their time allows.

The AGM gets underway at 7.30pm in the lower school hall.

If you can’t make it on the night but would still like to be involved somehow, or have ideas and suggestions, please contact Diana on 01206 765790.

The Summer Fair is the biggest fundraising event of the year for the PSA, and we want this year’s to be the most successful ever.

To achieve this though we’re going to need some help. So we’re looking for volunteers to staff the stalls; sort out old toys, books, DVDs and tombola prizes; pot up plants; grow extra produce; and make jam and other goodies ready for donation next month.

If you can help please fill in the tear-off slip on the PSA Newsletters that we have been sending home for the past few weeks. Or contact us via this website.

Christmas Bazaar raises over £1,500

Friday, December 5th, 2008

Last week’s Christmas Bazaar, a new event for the PSA, raised over £1,500 – a great achievement for a two-hour event on a cold, wet Friday afternoon.

Thank you to everyone who came along, to the PSA team that organised the event, the companies that donated raffle prizes, and the parents and staff who donated items for sale.

Here’s a reminder of the event.

Buy from Yellow Moon catalogue

Friday, November 14th, 2008

You should have received a Yellow Moon Catalogue this week from your child. It’s full of inspirational and educational ways to keep your children entertained, so is a good source of ideas for Christmas presents and stocking fillers.

For every purchase made, Yellow Moon will give Hamilton up to 25% cash back.

You can place your order direct with Yellow Moon by phone, fax, post or online. Please make sure you quote the source code, which you will find on your catalogue. This is unique to the school and ensures we receive our cash back.

Thank you.

£8 raised simply for a free trial

Wednesday, July 30th, 2008

I’ve just raised £8 for the PSA simply by signing up for a free 14-day trial to receive DVDs from Lovefilm.com via online shopping site easyfundraising.org.uk.

Raise £8 with a free trial of Lovefilm

I plan to stick with Lovefilm anyway, but imagine how much we could raise if we all signed up for just the trial and then cancelled it after 13 days? Given that Lovefilm has over 60,000 film, TV series and games titles, some of you might choose to stick with them. It doesn’t matter.

Register now for the trial and you’ll generate £8 straight away for the PSA. To be clear, to generate a donation:

(1) You must accept delivery of at least 1 DVD
(2) Only one trial per household
(3) You must provide valid financial details
(4) You must not have already had a free trial with a LOVEFiLM International owned service (includes screenselect.co.uk, tescodvdrental.com, easydvdrental.com and sofacinema.com

You’ll find Lovefilm under the CDs & DVDs category at:

www.easyfundraising.org.uk/hamiltonppsa

By the way, by signing up I was also entered into the July 2008 free prize draw sponsored by Majestic Wine, to win a case of Heidseick Gold Top Champagne.

How about that for some easy summer fundraising?

Hamilton rated ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted

Friday, July 18th, 2008

Ofsted logoCongratulations to the staff and children at Hamilton which has been judged as ‘outstanding’ in its latest Ofsted inspection report. As Headteacher Mr Reynolds points out, this puts the school “in the top 5% of schools in England”.

In the latest newsletter Mr Reynolds added: “I would also like to thank parents who were supportive of our school during the Ofsted process”.

The report isn’t yet live on the Ofsted website: the report on the last inspection on 28 February 2005 took just over two months to be published online. So, you can still read the last report.
