Book now for the 2011 Quiz Night

This year’s quiz night takes place on Friday 25 March, and bookings are now open. Tables cost just £25 between the team (we’ve held the price at the same level for another year), and you can field up to six in a team.

There will of course be a cash bar and some nibbles so please don’t bring your own booze.

You can download the booking form now. Please post completed forms in the PSA box by the school office. Tables are available on a first-come first-served basis.

Two charity appeal results

Poppies for sale for Royal British Legion

Recently the children have donated their pennies (well, your pennies probably) to two fundraising appeals.

£147.06 was raised for Help for Heroes, and £109.55 for the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal. Thank you.

And today, the children have dressed in red, green and gold in return for a donation to Colchester Hospitals CHarity (COHOC). We shall let you know how much that raised in due course.

Lots to get involved with at Christmas bazaar

There’s a lot of work underway planning the Christmas bazaar for the afternoon of Saturday 27 November.

Stalls at the event already include a raffle, children’s mini market, cake stall, sweet stall, Santa’s grotto, Fat Cat bar, Wicks Farm hog roast, garden gift box, Tozo toys & games, Scholastic Books, Phoenix Cards, Jamie at Home, Nick Strugnell Photography, Natural Skin Remedies, Microscooter, tattoos, face painting, games and tombola.

We still need some help though. For example, we need jam jars with lids, raffle prizes, wrapping paper, bottles for the bottle stall, or nearly new items for the tombola. Please drop these into the school office.

We also need volunteers to help on the day, to help set up, run stalls, and to help clear away. If you can help in any way, please let us know via the blue PSA boxes situated just
outside the school office. Please leave your name and contact details clearly marked. Thank you.

Halloween Disco on 21 October

Halloween

The next children’s disco will take place on Thursday 21st October. The next day is, conveniently, a non-pupil day.

The discos will be held in the lower school hall at Hamilton. The Infants’ disco has a theme of ‘Witches and Wizards’ and runs from 6.15 to 7.30pm; and the Juniors’ disco – Ghosts and Goblins – takes place from 7.45 to 9pm.

There will be prizes for the best outfit and spot dance.

Places are limited to 100 at each disco and will be sold on a first come first served basis, so book your place early to avoid disappointment. The cost of each ticket will be £4.

Themed snacks and drinks will be available to purchase on the night.

As always, volunteers for help on the night would be appreciated. See Diana in the playground from Monday 11th October if you can help.
